Asashio is a lakeside culinary inn near Bentenjima on scenic Lake Hamana in Kosai, Shizuoka Prefecture. Its roots date back to the 1960s, when the family operated fishing boats and opened a dining place so guests could enjoy good food after their outings. In 1982, the business became an inn, welcoming visitors to experience the area’s seasonal landscape and local flavors.

The inn’s cuisine features fish, seafood, and vegetables sourced locally, prepared to delight the eye, aroma, and palate. Meal plans include standard seasonal dishes, upgraded menus highlighting Enshu specialties, and options featuring grilled eel. Guests can stay in Japanese-style rooms, including spacious rooms available to smaller groups on selected plans. All rooms offer views of Lake Hamana, inviting visitors to enjoy its changing scenery or take a leisurely walk nearby.
