The Alabama Small Business Development Center Network (Alabama SBDC) is a statewide program that supports small businesses and strengthens Alabama’s economy. Through 10 centers located at university partners, its professional advisors provide free, confidential, and tailored management and technical assistance to entrepreneurs and small business owners across all 67 counties. The network helps people at every stage, from exploring a business idea and planning a startup to expanding an established company.
Services include guidance on business plans, financial analysis, marketing strategies, and financing, as well as workshops, webinars, seminars, and on-demand training. Specialized programs and resources address rural business growth, women’s business assistance, veteran entrepreneurship, government contracting and procurement, exporting and importing, intellectual property, manufacturing, disaster assistance, and digital marketing. AssistAL offers technical assistance for individuals pursuing State Small Business Credit Initiative lending and venture capital programs. The network also provides Spanish-language startup resources and a reference library. With practical advice and statewide support, the Alabama SBDC helps business owners navigate challenges, identify opportunities, and pursue sustainable growth.
