ASBFEO, the Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman, is dedicated to making Australia the best place for small businesses and family enterprises to thrive. With a wide range of services and resources, ASBFEO provides assistance, advocacy, and support to help businesses navigate challenges and achieve success. One of the key services offered by ASBFEO is dispute resolution.
The Assistance team responds to requests from small businesses and family enterprises that are in dispute with other businesses or Commonwealth Government agencies. They provide information on dispute resolution options, access to mediation, and assistance with disputes with the ATO. ASBFEO also supports businesses in the franchising, horticulture, dairy, and oil industries through alternative dispute resolution processes under specific industry codes.
In addition to dispute support, ASBFEO's Policy and Advocacy team works tirelessly to improve policies affecting small businesses. They collaborate with decision-makers, conduct research, deliver inquiries, and provide advice to Ministers to ensure Australia remains an optimal environment for small business growth. ASBFEO also maintains a comprehensive Resources & Tools Centre, offering valuable information and support to small businesses and family enterprises.
From cyber security to financial wellbeing, mental health to disaster recovery, the center provides a wealth of resources tailored to businesses' needs. To keep businesses informed, ASBFEO maintains an active Media Centre, sharing news, media releases, social media updates, and policy and advocacy work.
