About ASB South and South-East Asia
ASB Indonesia, a branch of the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB), is a German relief and social welfare organization dedicated to providing various social services. With over 200 branch offices in Germany and operations in more than 20 countries worldwide, ASB has a proven track record in civil protection, rescue services, and social welfare. In 2006, ASB began its work in Indonesia, partnering with the Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs to assist with the aftermath of the earthquake in Yogyakarta and Central Java.
Following the success of their relief efforts, ASB expanded their reach to the Philippines in 2014, collaborating with local organizations after Typhoon Haiyan. The organization maintains close relationships with government bodies, international and national NGOs, academia, and Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs). ASB Indonesia has a strong reputation for its inclusive disaster risk reduction (DRR) solutions, including the Disability-inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction Network (DiDRRN).
Their vision encompasses inclusion, empowerment, and resilience, while their mission focuses on enhancing access, strengthening capacities, and managing risk. Stay informed with the latest news and resources by signing up for ASB Indonesia's newsletter
