ASDEN

ASDEN-Ecologistas en Acción is a Soriana environmental association founded in 1982 to defend nature and environmental values, particularly in the province of Soria, Spain. Its work combines environmental protection, research, public awareness and cooperation, with activities extending to Castilla y León, Spain and international settings. The organization focuses on the region’s natural heritage, including protected areas such as the Cañón del Río Lobos, Laguna Negra and the Sabinar de Calatañazor, as well as rivers, wetlands, forests, mountains and high plains.

ASDEN studies local ecosystems and the wildlife and plant life they support, and highlights pressures such as river pollution, changes to waterways and broader environmental degradation. It runs awareness campaigns opposing actions that harm the environment and develops practical, viable alternatives. Its areas of interest also include climate change, pollution and renewable energy, including promoting local initiatives that can help municipalities reduce emissions. Through information, advocacy and cooperation, the association works to safeguard biodiversity, healthy waters and quality of life, while encouraging attention to Soria’s natural landscapes and ecological values.
