About ASEAN-Korea Cooperation Fund
The ASEAN-Republic of Korea Cooperation Fund (AKCF) is a vital platform that promotes collaboration and cooperation between ASEAN and the Republic of Korea. Since its inception in 1990, the AKCF has played a significant role in strengthening the ASEAN-ROK relations through its support for over 400 projects. These projects cover a wide range of areas, including technology transfer, economic development, human resource development, and people-to-people exchanges.
The fund aims to foster regional growth and enhance bilateral ties by facilitating initiatives that benefit both parties. To ensure effective management and implementation, the AKCF is overseen by the ASEAN-ROK Programme Management Team (AKPMT), established in 2016. The AKPMT's responsibilities include consultation with potential partners, coordination with relevant stakeholders, monitoring and evaluation of projects, and promoting the AKCF to stakeholders and the public.
