Asentum is a Layer-1 blockchain project designed around post-quantum security, accessible development, and broad validator participation. Its network uses NIST-standardized ML-DSA-65 (Dilithium3) signatures from genesis, avoiding reliance on classical signatures and the need for a later cryptographic migration. Asentum supports smart contracts written as plain JavaScript source, which are readable on-chain and designed to be immutable by default, with reentrancy made structurally impossible through asynchronous message-passing.
The project aims to let users run validators on consumer hardware, with a Raspberry Pi 4 as the stated minimum supported device. Its public testnet is live, producing five-second blocks, and the site reports 27 validators across three continents and more than 74,000 finalized blocks. Available tools include the Asentum Operator desktop app for running a validator and a native Chrome wallet extension with transaction approvals and Dilithium3 signing. The network also provides JSON-RPC and describes its tooling as MetaMask-compatible. ASE holders can signal on protocol proposals through testnet governance; incentivized testnet participation and rewards are planned.
