Asentum is a Layer-1 blockchain project designed around post-quantum security, JavaScript development, and accessible network participation. Its protocol uses NIST FIPS 204 ML-DSA-65 signatures from the genesis block, aiming to avoid reliance on legacy classical signatures and future migration. Smart contracts are written as plain JavaScript and published as readable source on-chain, with immutability by default and a design intended to make reentrancy structurally impossible.
The network is being tested with a target two-second block slot and a rotating BFT validator committee. Validators can run on consumer hardware, with a Raspberry Pi 4 listed as the supported minimum. Asentum provides an Electron desktop operator app for validator setup and management, a Chrome wallet extension with transaction approvals, and an incentivized testnet where participants can earn ASE rewards by validating. The project also describes on-chain governance, protocol documentation, and JSON-RPC tooling. Its public testnet is live, while some features and plans remain in development.
