Ashburton Anglers is a family-friendly fishing and spearfishing club established in 2019 and based in Onslow, Western Australia. It brings together local residents and visitors of all ages to enjoy recreational fishing, build skills, and take part in a welcoming, knowledge-rich community. The club runs members-only and open events, with members receiving free entry to members-only activities and discounted entry to open events.
Its program includes fishing competitions, a spearfishing competition, a measure-and-release event, a ladies’ fishing competition, and an annual yearlong contest for anglers and spearfishers across smallfry, junior, and adult categories. Open events include a free fishing clinic for local and visiting children, the family-oriented Beadon Bay Bash, and MACK10K, a Spanish mackerel competition featuring a $10,000 prize for the heaviest catch. Ashburton Anglers also promotes sportsmanship, junior participation, and compliance with fishing and boating regulations.
