The Ash Side of the Family is a privately created family history website bringing together the ancestors and relatives of Brian and Jean Ash. Named after a family WhatsApp group, it shares genealogical research developed over many years, with a database containing almost 5,000 names. The project is being built in stages, beginning with Brian Ash’s and Jean Topping’s direct ancestors, then expanding to the families their children married into and the wider branches of their family trees.

Visitors can search for people and families and explore individual profiles, family trees, timelines, historical stories, and research resources such as charts, tables, and statistics. Profiles include documented details about people’s lives, relationships, dates, and places, with stories and notes adding context where available. The site also highlights notable relatives and family branches through articles and photographs. Additional media, including scanned documents, audio, and video, is planned. Living people’s details are protected, and visitors are invited to share corrections or relevant family knowledge.
