AVADO, the Valencian Association of Ostomized People, is a nonprofit organization serving the Valencian Community. It brings together people living with an ostomy, their relatives, and professionals who contribute on a voluntary basis. Guided by its statutes and a participatory, democratic approach, the association’s central purpose is to provide help and support to people with colostomies, ileostomies, or urostomies, as well as to their families and friends.

AVADO shares practical information and educational resources through its publications and website. These include an eating guide for people with an ostomy, nutritional recommendations for inflammatory bowel disease, and a food reference table for ostomized people. The association also provides information about life as a couple after an ostomy and relevant health legislation. Its activities calendar and contact channels help visitors learn more and connect with the organization. AVADO invites people to join the association, fostering a community for those affected by ostomies and the people who support them.
