BelenistasPortuenses

The Asociación de Belenistas Portuenses “Ángel Martínez” is an association dedicated to belenismo, the tradition and craft of creating Nativity scenes, in El Puerto de Santa María. It brings together enthusiasts and offers opportunities to learn, share techniques, and celebrate this seasonal art. Its educational program includes beginner, intermediate, and advanced courses, with both theoretical and practical instruction, as well as technical talks led by experienced Nativity-scene makers. The association also organizes social gatherings, excursions, celebrations, and other events for members and the wider community.

Its activities include local Nativity-scene competitions and the Javier Ameneiro Christmas image contest, alongside school-focused initiatives and visits. Visitors can explore a permanent exhibition of dioramas and Nativity scenes, while the association’s multimedia gallery features photographs and videos, including tutorials. A specialist library offers a catalogue of books about belenismo. The association shares news, event information, and competition details through its website and social media, and welcomes people interested in joining and participating in its activities.
