About AmSoc Primatologists
The American Society of Primatologists (ASP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing both educational and scientific pursuits related to primatology. Established in the U. S., ASP aims to promote the discovery and exchange of vital information concerning primates.
Membership is open to individuals engaged in scientific primatology or those who wish to support the organization’s mission. ASP provides valuable resources including mentorship programs, scientific collaboration opportunities, and educational materials designed to enhance the study and welfare of primates. The society also actively engages in conservation efforts through initiatives like the Keep 'Em Wild Campaign, which focuses on preserving primate habitats.
Additionally, ASP publishes the American Journal of Primatology, contributing to the body of research in the field. Offering grants and awards for research and travel, alongside hosting meetings such as the upcoming ASP 2025 in Chicago, the American Society of Primatologists remains at the forefront of primate research and conservation, making significant strides to protect primate welfare worldwide
