ASPEFAM

ASPEFAM, the Peruvian Association of Faculties of Medicine, is the representative organization of the country’s medical faculties. Founded in 1964, it brings together 40 faculties and is recognized by the Peruvian government as an adviser to the health sector on medical education. The association works with national bodies involved in medical training and residency, and promotes quality, collaboration, and ethical responsibility across the profession.

ASPEFAM supports self-evaluation and accreditation, encourages cooperation through a consortium of medical libraries, and organizes the annual National Medical Examination (ENAM) and the Pre-Internship National Medical Examination (PRE-ENAM). Its educational activities include courses, webinars, seminars, conferences, and training in clinical simulation, mental health, medical sciences, and educational leadership. The association also coordinates professional networks focused on areas such as bioethics, digital health, public health, basic sciences, and medical education.

Through its virtual campus, document services, news, publications, and events, ASPEFAM provides resources for students, educators, researchers, and member institutions, while advancing the development and quality of medical education in Peru.
