Aspen Crossing is an award-winning entertainment destination and a rural gem in Southern Alberta. It offers a unique and unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages. What started as a tree farm and nursery has now become the foremost train-themed destination in Alberta.
Visitors can relive history on the Aspen Crossing railroad and celebrate the role that railways played in developing Canada. Owner Jason Thornhill has recreated his childhood memories of trains by transforming the Station into a hub of nostalgia. The dining room is housed in a late 18th-century dining car that once even served as a Canadian Prime Minister's private car, hosting Canadian music royalty.
Another historic facility, a 1906 prairie farm home, is now Aspen's Berquist Tavern. In addition to train excursions, Aspen Crossing offers a variety of events and functions, including weddings. The RV park and train excursions were added after years of hard work and negotiations with CP Rail.
Visitors from across Alberta and around the world have marveled at the wide prairie and big skies of Southern Alberta while re-living the age of rail. Aspen Crossing is a place to disconnect and reconnect with loved ones. It's a place to make memories that will last a lifetime
