Aspen Nordic

Aspen Nordic Council is a 501(c)(3) organization supporting a network of free cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails in Colorado’s Roaring Fork Valley. Its Aspen Snowmass Nordic Trail System connects Aspen, Snowmass, and Basalt, with approximately 90 kilometers, or 60 miles, of trails across golf courses, open spaces, nature preserves, and other local areas. Trail information includes maps, grooming reports, and safety and etiquette guidance, helping visitors plan outings and check current conditions.

The organization offers private and group lessons, youth programs, a youth racing team, and a Nordic Master Program. Visitors can also access equipment rentals and demonstrations, along with equipment tuning and maintenance. Retail products and organized events round out the offerings. The trail network includes routes in Aspen, Snowmass, and Basalt, as well as additional destinations such as the Rio Grande Trail and Maroon Bells. Aspen Nordic Council also shares information about the system’s history and invites the community to support trail access and maintenance.
