Foi com um pequeno número de associados que nasceu a Associação de Supermercadistas do Rio de Janeiro – ASSERJ, mais precisamente em 1969, um ano após a atividade supermercadista ser definida e regulamentada no País. Criada com o intuito de fortalecer e defender a cadeia supermercadista do Estado, a ASSERJ atendeu bem ao seu objetivo principal. Há mais de quatro décadas representando e defendendo os interesses do setor. Missão: Unir, Servir e Representar para fortalecer e desenvolver o setor supermercadista do RJ, fomentar a cadeia de abastecimento e consumo e promover geração de valor e qualidade de vida.
