Assistive Technologies is a company focused on creating affordable, accessible tools that improve quality of life and help level the playing field for people with disabilities and special needs. Its work grew from an effort to build a solution for a family member with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), which the team now shares with others.
The company’s featured product is an augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) messaging app, described as the world’s first AAC messaging app made by caregivers. It is designed to help non-speaking people communicate through text and speech, supporting more effortless connections with family and others in their lives. The app also offers customizable AAC keyboards, with data-driven insights intended to help tailor them to each person. Communication history can be used to review progress and identify areas where additional support may be helpful.
Assistive Technologies presents its products as a way to reduce communication barriers and foster a more connected world.
