AAGI-ID, the Associação Amigos da Grande Idade, is a Portuguese association focused on the rights, well-being and inclusion of older people. Its work promotes autonomy and encourages new approaches to ageing, while bringing together members, professionals and regional delegations around issues affecting older adults and their families. The association offers training and professional development, including postgraduate programmes, executive courses and workshops on managing services for older people, supervising care teams and emotional management.

It also provides consultancy and shares resources on caregiving, continuing care, legislation, quality, human resources, economics and service management through its library, publications, guides and newsletters. AAGI-ID organises public events, including national and international conferences on ageing, and supports projects and initiatives related to older people and people living with Alzheimer’s disease. Its activities also include regional outreach through delegations in areas such as Centro, Alentejo, Oeiras and Lezírias.
