Associação Cabra Cega

Associação Cabra Cega is a Portuguese nonprofit and Private Institution of Social Solidarity (IPSS) dedicated to supporting people who are blind or have low vision. Founded by Pedro Nogueira, the association draws on lived experience of vision loss to address the challenges of rehabilitation, isolation and social inclusion. Its aim is to help beneficiaries develop practical skills and confidence so they can build more autonomous, active lives and participate fully in society.

The association supports people with visual impairments and their families as they adapt to changing circumstances and learn ways to manage everyday tasks. It also promotes awareness of visual disability, challenges prejudice and advocates for equal rights and recognition. Through its activities and projects, including the named initiatives Autonomia com Tic-Tac and Quinta do Bem-Estar, Cabra Cega works to strengthen independence and wellbeing. The organisation invites people to get involved as members, support its cause through donations or tax designation, and follow its news and projects.
