Associação Midas is an animal welfare association based in Matosinhos, Portugal. Its work focuses on welcoming animals in need, providing care and arranging adoption, particularly for dogs and cats. The association presents animals in its care for adoption and invites prospective adopters to submit a proposal for the dog or cat they wish to welcome into their home.

Midas also works to address abandonment and the overpopulation of stray animals through sterilisation. It reports that adopted animals are sterilised, except for young animals, and lists additional sterilisation work under the CED programme. A veterinary clinic is among its services.

People can support the association by becoming members, sponsoring an animal, making a donation or volunteering. Sponsorship helps contribute to an animal’s food and health needs while it awaits a permanent family, and members’ monthly contributions help fund care at the shelter. Midas also runs a solidarity shop offering items such as calendars and books, with proceeds helping its animal welfare work.
