Associação Portuguesa de Reiki

The Portuguese Reiki Association (Associação Portuguesa de Reiki) is an organization dedicated to supporting and promoting Reiki practice in Portugal. Its work brings together practitioners, Reiki teachers, volunteers, and the wider community through educational resources, professional support, events, and community initiatives. The association provides a library of documents and guides, information on Reiki research, academic studies and publications, and the Hayashi Prize for Reiki research. It also offers support for practitioners and teachers, maintains networks for Reiki volunteering, including initiatives involving animals, and connects members with associated Reiki schools and working groups.

The association promotes ethical practice through a code of ethics and conduct, a national ethics commission for Reiki therapy, and guidance on complaints and membership rules. Its projects and activities include Reiki sharing sessions, workshops, meditation, public events, and initiatives in settings such as hospitals and care homes. It also explores Reiki in relation to science, wellbeing, mental health, children, and sustainability.
