Associação de Solidariedade Social de Basto (ASSB) is a private social solidarity institution founded in 2000 to support people and families experiencing disadvantage in the municipality of Celorico de Basto, Portugal. Its work focuses on families and the wider community, while recognising each person’s individual circumstances. ASSB aims to prevent and reduce social exclusion through coordinated social and educational support.

The association’s services include a nursery, home support, a day centre, an activities centre for children and young people, and a social canteen. It also operates a Residential Home, a Centre for Activities and Inclusion Capacity, and a Residence for Autonomy and Inclusion, providing support for people with disabilities. These services offer care, personalised assistance and occupational activities in welcoming settings, with support from a multidisciplinary team.

ASSB’s Community Centre in Gémeos is an open space for local projects and activities intended to improve living conditions, encourage local development and strengthen social integration. Across its work, the association seeks to respond to community needs and promote inclusion and well-being.
