About Association Akuma
Association Akuma is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness about and supporting medical research on the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). HPV is the main risk factor for cancers of the anus, cervix, vulva, penis, and the head and neck region. The association was founded by Laurence, who has been living with the virus in her head and neck since the age of 6.
Despite facing challenges such as societal scrutiny and numerous surgeries, she has learned to accept the virus and live with it. Akuma Run, the association's flagship event, is the first French race organized to raise funds for medical research on HPV-related cancers. Participants can choose from two timed running courses and two walking courses, catering to all fitness levels.
