AIE OdV

The Associazione Italiana Epilessia (AIE) is an Italian association dedicated to supporting people affected by epilepsy and improving understanding of the condition. Based in Bologna, it welcomes people who want to contribute their time and expertise, and invites individuals to become members or volunteers. AIE provides information and listening services, peer-support groups, legal guidance, an insurance policy, and “AIE Risponde,” alongside educational resources and activities for schools.

The association shares practical guidance on epilepsy, seizures, emergency response, rights and benefits, medicines, travel, and common misconceptions. Its website offers booklets, guides, articles, videos, interviews, and the Epilepsy News newsletter. AIE also promotes projects focused on life beyond seizures, inclusive careers, welcoming students with epilepsy at school, and scientific and care initiatives. Through regional events and awareness activities, it encourages informed, inclusive participation. Supporters can contribute through donations, fundraising items, and Italy’s 5×1000 tax allocation. AIE’s work brings together people with epilepsy, families, schools, and communities to foster greater awareness and support.
