Associazione Ikigai

Associazione Ikigai, whose name means “reason for living,” is an organization dedicated to supporting the wellbeing and dignity of older people, particularly those living with dementia. Its work is guided by the belief that everyone deserves to live with purpose at every stage of life. The association informs and trains families and caregivers about dementia and different ways of providing support, with an emphasis on innovative, personalized approaches that can improve quality of life.

It also organizes cultural programs and community events to raise awareness of age-related dementia and encourage greater understanding. A key goal is to establish the “Ikigai – Ragione di Vita” community center, creating a place for connection and participation. Through its activities, Ikigai seeks to offer older people with dementia meaningful stimulation, dignity, and opportunities to take an active part in community life, while helping families feel supported.
