Associazione il Fauno

Associazione Il Fauno is a community-based environmental association focused on protecting the wildlife and plant life of the lower Mella area in Italy. Its work combines care for local green spaces with conservation and environmental education, serving both the natural environment and the surrounding community.

The association maintains parks, nurseries and other green areas, and manages sites through agreements with municipal and private partners. Its projects include the Mella Morta supramunicipal park, the Driade Park and a teaching nursery and seedbed near Cigole. It has also supported planting in riverside floodplain areas and created green spaces for community use, including a fitness trail beside the castle moat.

Education is another central part of its mission. Il Fauno works to introduce environmental topics to people of all ages, with resources covering plants, flowers, medicinal herbs, animals, geology and ecosystems. The association’s activities aim to encourage understanding of local nature while preserving areas for future generations.
