Associazione Lapo

Associazione Lapo APS is a nonprofit Italian association bringing together families, organizations and professionals concerned with neurological and psychiatric disorders in childhood and adolescence. Based in Florence, it works across healthcare, education and rehabilitation, with the aim of improving the quality of life of young people with disabilities and encouraging inclusive, rehabilitative approaches supported by social and healthcare services.

The association’s activities include education and professional development, scientific work, legislative engagement, consultation and promotion, and publications. A particular focus is equine rehabilitation (RE). Its offerings include an online course for 2026–2027 on the fundamentals and methodology of equine rehabilitation, designed for professionals and operators in social, healthcare, educational and equestrian settings. It also organizes theoretical and practical sessions at accredited equine rehabilitation centres, as well as tailored internships on request. Other resources and initiatives include continuing education, study days, masterclasses and training related to rehabilitation and animal-assisted interventions. Through these activities, Associazione Lapo supports knowledge-sharing and the development of rehabilitative practices for young people with neuropsychiatric conditions.
