Associazione Traumi Parma

Associazione Traumi Parma is a volunteer organization founded in 1985 at the intensive care center of the University Hospital of Parma. It supports people who have experienced neurological trauma, including stroke and head injury, and helps their families adjust to the changes these conditions can bring to everyday life. The association provides information to help families navigate disability-related administrative systems, along with individual and group support. It also promotes awareness, education, and inclusion through campaigns and creative projects focused on disability.

Its work includes a residential project, developed in response to the changing needs of people with head injuries and their families, with the aim of offering a dignified and suitable living perspective. The road safety and prevention project is directed at upper secondary school students and uses information activities to address risk factors and attitudes that can contribute to traffic accidents. Associazione Traumi Parma is part of Italy’s National Federation of Head Trauma Associations, a network of 23 local organizations that shares expertise and supports prevention and rehabilitation initiatives.
