AST am Bach

AST am Bach GmbH is a small residential and therapeutic institution in Forst-Längenbühl, Switzerland, serving adolescents and young adults aged 14 and older who have intellectual and/or mental disabilities. It provides individually tailored social-pedagogical and therapeutic support, working closely with families, residential homes, care providers, authorities, and medical professionals. Its services include residential placements for up to three people, two places in its day and work programme, crisis intervention, short-term respite and time-outs, and support for medium-term stabilisation.

Daily activities include individually adapted work in the garden and household tasks, with transport provided by the institution. AST am Bach offers care and supervision around the clock, throughout the year, and adjusts its approach to each resident’s medical and educational needs. The institution also supports the wider network around each client and promotes interdisciplinary cooperation, including access to an integrated consulting psychiatrist.

Admissions require readiness to participate in psychiatric and social-pedagogical treatment and collaborate with involved parties; specific health-related conditions apply where substance dependence is present
