A Step in the Right Direction is a behavioral services provider focused on helping children and individuals with developmental disabilities build skills and reach their potential. Its approach emphasizes meeting each child where they are, preserving their individuality, and using play, positive relationships, and family collaboration to support meaningful progress. The organization offers one-to-one Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in clients’ homes, working with parents to implement effective strategies, strengthen important skills, and reduce challenging behaviors.

Social skills groups and community-based instruction help clients practice and generalize what they learn in everyday settings. For young adults with disabilities, adult transition services support preparation for independent life, including post-secondary education, vocational training, integrated employment, and community participation. The organization also partners with local school districts to provide behavioral, academic, and social support during the school day.

Through Self-Determination Services, individuals can use individualized budgets to choose services and supports and hire their own providers. A Step in the Right Direction also supports local nonprofit agencies and participates in its community
