About Asterisk
Asterisk Magazine is a publication focused on understanding the forces shaping human development and flourishing. Its coverage spans science, emerging technologies, economics, politics, culture, and global health, bringing together reported features, interviews, and essays that explore both current challenges and longer-term change. Recent articles examine topics such as HIV treatment access in Zambia, the global distribution of advanced AI, education, work, universities, and cultural taste.
The magazine also considers how historical experiences and local institutions shape responses to new technologies and economic shifts. Asterisk publishes themed issues, with Issue 15 featuring a diverse collection of perspectives on subjects ranging from diplomacy and Scottish education to China’s changing relationship with AI. Readers can browse articles and contributor profiles online, sign up for a newsletter featuring the magazine’s latest work, or subscribe to the print edition.
Print subscriptions include four issues per year delivered to readers’ doors. Asterisk also offers a shop and provides information about stockists, making its journalism available through both direct subscriptions and retail outlets
