Astra Fauna is an independently created science-fiction art and storytelling project centered on a universe of imaginative alien creatures, characters, and worlds. Created by an artist who began the project in 2018, Astra Fauna is made without AI, using digital and traditional tools. Its flagship book, Astra Fauna: Expeditions, follows five alien scientists as they investigate life on distant planets.

The illustrated artbook combines five short stories, more than 230 illustrations, and creature and character statistics, including options for 5E role-playing games. Readers encounter themes of mystery, love, and danger alongside both charming and monstrous life forms. Astra Fauna also offers art prints, durable playmats, worry dolls, and original creature concept drawings accompanied by certificates of authenticity.

The site features creature and world guides, interviews, behind-the-scenes material, short stories, resources, and a name generator. Fans can subscribe to a newsletter for project and shop updates, with a stated 15% discount for new subscribers, or support ongoing work through a monthly Patreon membership
