ASTROMIA-42

ASTROMIA-42 is an astronomy association based at the Maison des Associations, Clos Bayard, in Saint-Priest-en-Jarez, France. Its activities help people explore the night sky and learn about astronomy through talks, observing sessions and community events. The association holds regular “Discovery” evenings, with programs covering subjects such as the solar system, exoplanets, cosmology, stars, space history and observing techniques. It also organizes sky observations and shares practical resources, articles, newsletters and photographs.

A major public event is CELEST’IVAL, which features a program of activities and conferences. ASTROMIA-42 also takes part in France’s Nights of the Stars and offers astronomy activities for young people and at local community venues, including the media library. Its educational content ranges from comets and observing equipment to black holes and near-Earth asteroids. Through its team and local partners, including the municipality and the Loire Departmental Council, the association makes astronomy accessible and encourages curiosity about the universe.
