Astronomía para principiantes is an educational astronomy website created to help newcomers explore the night sky and learn about the universe. Inspired by the creator’s own journey from reading a book and using monthly sky maps to observing with binoculars and a telescope, the site aims to make astronomy approachable and encourage curiosity through shared knowledge.

Its extensive learning resources cover astronomy’s history, the solar system, stars, exoplanets, comets, nebulae, meteors, galaxies, and notable astronomers, including women who shaped the field. Visitors can also find practical guidance for observing the sky, such as identifying seasonal objects, understanding celestial coordinates and eclipses, choosing binoculars or a telescope, and using astronomy apps. Other topics include light pollution, dark-sky observing, meteor showers, and simple observing projects.

The site also features cosmic facts, astronomy timelines, videos, and illustrated tours of the sky, alongside descriptions of celestial objects and space imagery. Astronomía para principiantes serves as a self-guided starting point for people who want to understand what they see above them and continue learning through observation.
