Astronomie-Mainzde

The Astronomical Society of Mainz, established in 1970, is dedicated to promoting astronomical education and appreciation among all age groups. Located at the Paul-Baumann Observatory in Klein-Winternheim, the observatory is open to the public and hosts a variety of free events, including observation evenings, telescope consultations, and solar observations. Visitors can explore the wonders of the night sky while learning about fascinating natural phenomena through engaging talks and hands-on experiences.

The society also offers a unique astrophotography calendar, with proceeds supporting their volunteer efforts and the expansion of the observatory. Additionally, a wealth of astronomical resources, including infographics and guides, provide accessible information for enthusiasts at any level. Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned astronomer, the welcoming community fosters a friendly environment for all.
