Astronomiefreunde Karlsdorf-Neuthard e. V. is a local astronomy association dedicated to sharing the enjoyment and knowledge of the night sky with its community.

Based in Karlsdorf-Neuthard, the group brings astronomy to life through public talks, practical observing sessions and educational activities for children and visitors. Members use the association’s telescopes to introduce people to celestial objects and explain how observing instruments work. They also share their own astronomical photographs and films, including accounts of events such as solar eclipses.

Outreach activities have included welcoming school groups for telescope viewing and hands-on learning, supported by displays of astronomy games and books. The association’s website publishes event announcements, reports and information about its telescopes and members’ equipment. It also provides access to astronomical photographs, guidance for beginners in astrophotography, observing and sky-weather resources, and links to other astronomy groups and observatories.

In addition, the club lists instruments and literature available to borrow, helping interested people explore astronomy and develop their own observing interests
