of Astronomy Benalla

**Astronomy Benalla** is a non-profit organization established in 2010 that is dedicated to igniting interest and passion for amateur astronomy within the Benalla community and its surrounding districts. Through a variety of engaging activities and services, the organization aims to cultivate safe and enjoyable learning experiences while fostering community involvement. Members of Astronomy Benalla share a profound enthusiasm for exploring the universe; their interests encompass optimizing telescopic views, capturing stunning astrophotography, and deepening their understanding of astronomical phenomena.

The group hosts monthly meetings every second Wednesday at 7:30 PM at the Benalla Hockey Club Rooms, which feature informative presentations from either guest speakers or members. Furthermore, Astronomy Benalla organizes regular public viewing sessions, including a Moon Viewing at the local Showgrounds and Deep Sky Viewing at the Observation Pad in Winton Wetlands. These sessions are free, with a suggested gold coin donation to help cover costs. For those interested in joining or finding more detailed information about upcoming events, a calendar and additional resources are available on their website.
