About Astronomical Society of Edinburgh
The Astronomical Society of Edinburgh (ASE) has been sharing its passion for astronomy since 1924, engaging enthusiasts from Edinburgh, the Lothians, and beyond. The society holds regular meetings, offering diverse talks that delve into various astronomical topics, providing a platform for both members and visitors to learn and share their curiosity about the cosmos.
ASE organizes a vibrant calendar of events, including monthly hybrid meetings at the Augustine United Church, where participants can attend in person or join via Zoom and YouTube. Their Imaging & Observing Group encourages active participation among members to explore and process astronomical data captured by their remote observatory in Spain.
In addition to educational sessions, ASE publishes articles and organizes community outreach activities, such as star-gazing events and a solar system model walk in East Lothian. Whether you're a novice or an expert, ASE welcomes individuals eager to deepen their understanding of astronomy while enjoying a rich community experience.
