Astro Pixel Processor (APP) is a deep-sky image-processing application developed by Aries Productions. First released in 2017, the software is designed to take astrophotographers’ data from raw exposures through to finished images, with tools for calibration, registration, normalization, integration, background correction, and color processing. It also supports specialized workflows such as mosaic creation, including fully automatic multi-panel mosaics, and offers innovative algorithms such as Adaptive Airy Disc debayering and Local Normalization Correction.

Developed by astrophysicist Mabula Haverkamp, APP draws on scientific expertise as well as feedback from the worldwide astrophotography community. The site provides trial, renter’s, and owner’s licenses, alongside downloads, a user forum, presentations, and video tutorials. It also showcases images processed by APP users, illustrating applications across nebulae, galaxies, star clusters, and wide-field mosaics.
