About ATAA
The Assembly of Turkish American Associations (ATAA) is a Washington, DC-based nonprofit membership organization established in 1979. Representing more than 50 local chapters across the United States, it works to connect Turkish American communities and support cooperation among their social and cultural organizations. ATAA’s mission includes serving as a link between communities of different sizes and pursuing their shared interests in Washington and beyond. It also seeks to strengthen the historic relationship between the United States and Türkiye and promote an accurate and fair understanding of Türkiye and Turkish people.
ATAA offers individual, family, and component association memberships, bringing together Turkish Americans and friends of Türkiye through a nationwide network. Its programs and resources include cultural and educational initiatives, annual conferences, scholarships, youth activities, and events. The organization also provides information and resources on Turkish studies, Turkish schools in the United States, community experiences, and related public issues. Through its committees, publications, events calendar, and community communications, ATAA supports engagement among members and the wider public.
