L'Atelier du Tapissier Bayeux

L’Atelier du Tapissier is an interior upholstery and décor workshop in Bayeux, in France’s Calvados region, near Caen. With 30 years of experience, the artisan works with private customers and professionals, offering advice and bespoke solutions shaped around each client’s needs and style, from classic to contemporary or more daring interiors.

The workshop’s services include the restoration and reupholstery of chairs and armchairs, carried out by hand using traditional skills and quality materials. It also creates made-to-measure curtains, sheers and blinds, including Californian blinds, to complement a room’s design. For walls, the artisan installs decorative wall coverings and stretched fabrics, valued for their appearance and their insulating and acoustic qualities. Cold-stretched ceilings and printed fabrics are also available; the tensioned polyester canvas can conceal flaws in existing ceilings and is described as durable and easy to maintain.

Each project is individually made, with completed work spanning seating, curtains, blinds, wall fabrics and ceilings. The Bayeux workshop welcomes visitors Tuesday through Saturday, preferably by appointment.
