Atelier Ilys

Atelier Ilys is a natural dyeing studio in Pierrerue, Haute-Provence, founded by Isabelle Lys. Set within an 18th-century former silk farm, the atelier shares the traditional craft of colouring textiles with plants and other natural materials. Its hands-on workshops cover indigo, plant dyeing, eco-printing and pigments, with options for different experience levels and formats ranging from half-day sessions to full days and weekends. Tailor-made workshops are also available for individuals, groups and companies.

Visitors can stay on site in a cottage, loft or guest rooms, surrounded by 30 hectares of nature and dye gardens. The atelier also offers a shop featuring dye plants, seeds and home dyeing kits, including preparations made with materials such as sulphur cosmos, coreopsis and oak bark.

Atelier Ilys emphasises handmade work, natural products and mindful use of water and resources. Its approach is designed to minimise waste and uses fabrics from the circular economy. Rooted in Provence, the brand brings together craft, nature, learning and accommodation in a distinctive rural setting.
