Atelier Marx is an art studio founded around the landscape-inspired paintings of artist Marjolein Marx. Her work explores places shaped over time by geological forces and a changing climate, from the canyons of the American West to the glaciers and coastlines of South America. Each painting begins on location, where Marx gathers stones, sand and minerals, then grinds them by hand into pigments. These materials become part of the artwork, preserving a physical fragment of the place that inspired it.
The studio presents paintings through three collections: MIND, which draws forms from the contours of the land; SOUL, which reflects the character of a place; and BODY, which focuses on natural structures, surface and weight. Works are available for purchase, although some are marked sold. Atelier Marx also offers art prints and accepts enquiries for commissioned work, while retaining artistic freedom over the finished piece. Its website features works, collections, new releases and information for galleries and partners.
