Kinderhaus AtemReich is a specialist children’s home in Munich, founded in 2005 to provide a safe, caring environment for children who cannot breathe independently and require intensive medical support. The facility supports up to 18 children and young people, from toddlers to adolescents, offering professional nursing care alongside individual educational and therapeutic support. Its aim is to help each child live with dignity and experience a child-friendly daily life, despite illness or disability.

Families can choose from several care arrangements, including long-term stays, transitional care, respite care and holiday or short-term care. Children are supported around the clock by an interdisciplinary team in a warm, family-like setting. Daily life includes activities such as morning gatherings, school lessons and outings, with care tailored to each child’s needs.

AtemReich also works closely with families and emphasizes safety, wellbeing, personal development and respectful collaboration. The organization welcomes donations, volunteers and prospective employees, and provides training opportunities in an interdisciplinary learning environment that brings together education, intensive care and therapy.
