AtHeNa

AtHeNa, short for Associazione Trentina Handicap e Normalità a Confronto, is a volunteer association based in Rovereto, Italy. It brings together families of children, young people and young adults with disabilities, offering a place to connect, share experiences, support one another and plan together. The association works to help families and their children take part in enjoyable activities, while promoting dialogue with institutions and support organisations and raising awareness of everyday life with disability.

AtHeNa organises summer camps and other opportunities for recreation and companionship, with attention to participants’ individual needs. It also holds fundraising initiatives that bring people together, including community dinners, lunches, concerts, choir performances, theatre events, special events and markets featuring sweets and local crafts. These activities help support the association’s work and encourage community involvement. AtHeNa also shares news about its projects and initiatives, including activities for children in hospital paediatric wards. Families and supporters can contribute through membership, donations and Italy’s five-per-thousand tax donation scheme.
