About Athens Film Office
The Athens Film Office (AFO) is a brand established in March 2020 under the Athens Development and Destination Management Agency (ADDMA). Its primary objective is to make the City of Athens a "film-friendly city" by attracting international productions. With a wealth of options ranging from the city to the coast and from classical to contemporary settings, Athens offers exceptional opportunities for every production.
The AFO facilitates connections between creatives and local service providers, assisting with everything from transportation to translation. Moreover, the AFO supports events that foster collaboration among creative individuals, continuing Athens' rich artistic tradition. The AFO provides various free services, such as location scouting in close cooperation with local experts, assistance with permits, and connections with hospitality service providers.
They also offer consultancy on government aid programs and collaborate with the Hellenic Film Commission for shooting locations outside the city. The AFO strives to ensure smooth coordination among different city services for productions with special requirements.
