Athletics Tasman

Athletics Tasman is the regional athletics organisation serving the top of New Zealand’s South Island. It brings together people of all ages and abilities, from children developing new skills to social and masters athletes pursuing personal goals and competitors representing the region nationally. Its focus is on delivering inclusive, supportive opportunities to run, jump, throw, wheel and walk.

The organisation offers programmes and events through five children’s athletics clubs across the Tasman region, from Marlborough to Tākaka. Athletes can connect with Athletics New Zealand-registered coaches and take part in senior and masters competitions and coaching. Its calendar also includes track and field, cross-country, road and trail activities, with out-of-stadia events held during winter.

Athletics Tasman works with member clubs and regional partners to grow participation and strengthen community connections through sport. Its website helps visitors find local clubs, upcoming events, results, records and information about Saxton Field. Whether someone is taking their first steps in athletics or aiming for competition, Athletics Tasman provides ways to get involved across the region.
