Atlas Performing Arts Center is a renowned non-profit performing arts venue located in the historic theater district of H Street, Northeast in Washington, DC. Serving as the cultural anchor of the community, the Atlas is dedicated to fostering and presenting exemplary art in various forms such as film, dance, music, theater, vocal and choral work, and spoken word performances. With four performance spaces, the Atlas hosts a range of events, including free performances in their lobby.
In addition to producing their own performances, they also offer rental spaces to other artist groups to create their own productions. The Atlas is proud to support and collaborate with several esteemed DC arts organizations, including Capital City Symphony, Mosaic Theater Company of DC, Visionaries of the Creative Arts (VOCA), Joy of Motion Dance Center, and Step Afrika!. Through their City at Peace youth development program and Atlas Arts Lab, they are actively involved in arts education initiatives.
Every winter, the Atlas produces the highly anticipated INTERSECTIONS Festival, which showcases the talent of nearly 300 artists and performing groups over several weeks.
