Atrocities Watch Africa (AWA) is a non-partisan civil society organization dedicated to fighting impunity and ending the commission of crimes in Africa. AWA aims to hold accountable those responsible for atrocities and human rights violations on the continent. With a focus on developing African capacities to handle such violations, AWA seeks to contribute to the prevention, punishment, and deterrence of future mass atrocities.

AWA conducts research on the genesis of mass atrocities in Africa and tracks such incidents to inform the AU's continental early warning system. Through its advocacy efforts, AWA engages with national, regional, and international mechanisms to take remedial and preventive action on mass atrocities. The organization also uses new media and digital tracking to raise awareness and inform the public about atrocities in Africa.

AWA is committed to nurturing new and young advocates in Africa to champion the cause against atrocities and impunity.
